Welcome to my sanctuary where freedom, aesthetics, death, love, power, pleasure, fear, hope, bliss, dysfunction, creation, sadness, art, history, politics, conflict, and the condition of the collective psyche are gathered together.  I believe that poetry represents the purest form of contemplative energy, the inspired release of the sensory and spiritual, and the primal, cognitive catharsis of chaos and fantasy out of structure and reality.  Poetry is the immortal voice of faith, the written ceremonial dream, and the sacred manifestation of the passionate, irrational, and idealistic self. All true poets must initiate themselves in the abyss of the subconscious in order to become a keeper of the living Word, a master of the explorative power of the depraved soul, and a panacea to the pain of an unrealised Humanity.

Scourge, my first book of poetry, is ready for purchase at http://www.amazon.com/SCOURGE-Wayne-Paul/dp/142578576X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1211332158&sr=8-1.  On this site, feel free to read excerpts from the book, browse the features, and immerse yourself in the information.  If you don't know what the definition of the word "scourge" is, I hope you'll find out soon enough...

Excerpts from SCOURGE

nymph.jpg

Inside a Woman

Leading you by the wrist

Arriving at our trist

You feel my neck-soft kiss

Then let me into you

Pushing my passion through

Each stroke to share with me

Your instincts to set free

We'll bleed the moon tonight

I'll save you from your plight

I'm hard inside of you

Deep where desire grew

Your skin so smooth to test

Sigh as you heave your breast

Just let me see your face

We'll purify this place

Ours is a fated task

Thrusting upon the grass

Flesh fusing into one

Gasping until we're done

To you my seed is given

Abate the carnal rhythm

And now I've entered in

Content like bloated sin

Please open yourself again.

A Theme Regurgitated

Love--art thou not a snake?

Dost thy strike induce mine heart to quake?

Wouldst thou snare solace in thy coils

Whilst my injured esteem toils?

Love--oust thyself ergo I wake!

Love art thou not a curse?

Wherefore hast thou my distress made worse?

Hath thy plot render'd hope be slain?

Lest I long to dream in vain?

Love--thy feats spoil the poet's verse!

Love--art thou not a thief?

Thine envy hath swindled joy for grief!

Hitherto trusting all for naught!

Whence came passion so distraught!

Love--I adjure thee for relief!

How oft I've seized what thou forbade!

In youth's brash sleep I've disobeyed!

Sweet vintage in a lonely glade!

Elysium of constant shade!

Thy vileness we shall promptly smite.

Mankind enfin can chance to gloat!

Impaled upon the words we write,

We've honed our craft to cut your throat!

A Voice to the Ages

blake.jpgI believe that the greatest artists are those who are able to transcend the experiences of their personal lives to create something beyond the walls of emotional association within which they are confined.  They affect lasting change upon their respective societies and influence the new past of the unborn world through the exploration of the infinite mind.  Great art expands the frontier of expectation, faith, mystery, sentiment, and the meaning of the psychological condition. That which is remembered and venerated as such is powerful, profound, eternal.
